We have been so busy these last few weeks that I can't even remember the last time we had a whole nights sleep. We ventured off to Dallas a few weeks ago so that I could play in the adult national volleyball tournament. The whole family went and we quickly learned Cooper loves the water. He refused to do anything else but to stare at the big blue bath tubWe took a trip by the infamous Grassy KnollCooper LOVES, LOVES, LOVES Jack. Luckily Jack is super good with him and lets him smother him to death

Someone is getting a little too curious. I turned my back for 30 seconds and came back to this. The look of surprise when I "Caught him" Was priceless.

I might have gone a little overboard on the pictures, but I think that my baby is the cutest thing ever and wanted to share my whole family with everyone! We had a wonderful Easter this year! We started out with a lazy Friday; Cooper was lucky enough to have naked Friday and sleep in mom and dad's bed after he woke up in the morning

We blessed Cooper Lewis Anderson on April 10th at the Hidden Creek Ward in Sandy. Weston gave him a beautiful blessing and we had the honor of many amazing men in the circle as well. Great-Grandpa Jensen, Anderson, and Cropper, Grandpa Anderson, Uncle Bruce, Cousin Cody and Casey, along with our dear friends Blair, Danny and Sto. Afterwards we went to Weston's parents house to eat with 50 of our closest family and friends. Thanks to all those who came. It was a beautiful day.

Our little Cooper is now 7 weeks old and I can barely believe it.

He has grown so much in the last few weeks that it is hard to imagine him the day he was born.

He has laughed out loud for the first time and is sleeping through most of the night

He's getting stronger during tummy time and is able to hold his head easily (His big brain doesn't even wear him out :) )The only problem is our dog thinks that the play mat is for him as well and is stubbornly not listening when we tell him to get out.

Our precious little boy is now 5 weeks old. He was born a healthy 8 pounds 4 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. for his 2 week check up he was in the 90th percentile for his height and the 60th percentile for his weight, so he is long and skinny like his father.

Our dog Jack loves the baby as well: He runs to him when her cries, tries to eat his poopy diapers, and loves to try to lick him when mom isn't looking.

Daddy Weston is a glowing father and tries to help Cooper work on his shooting form with his special baby sized Jazz basketball (Goodbye D-Will). Weston has been an amazing father by helping out with EVERY part of taking care of Cooper. Yes, he even changes lots of diapers.

Cooper has been showing his amazing intelligence by smiling when we are talking to him, holding his head up since day one, and I am sure that he can already talk :)

We love him so much and can't wait to start making wonderful memories with him.

Weston and I found out that we are soon going to be blessed with a new addition to our home. We are going to be having a baby boy in January. It is so exciting/the scariest thing that we have ever done!

Now we are just looking forward to preparing for the new arrival and all the joy that comes with it!

I am super thrilled right now and I have to share the good news with everyone! Weston just got his first official job! He is growing up so fast. He was one of the 14 individuals to be hired around the nation as a team leader at Discover Card. We still aren't quite sure what he will be doing but he is supposed to be able to move into an executive position eventually. He starts in July and gets to go to Chicago for 3 weeks of training, which means that I get to go on vacation :) I am so super proud of him and he is relieved after weeks of worry, stress and searching!

The most fun we've had in a week

Weston and I were able to go to the Jazz game when they played the Thunder. We won in overtime by 1. And we got to see it all from the 7th row!

Over the last couple of weeks we have been really lucky to do some really fun things. Me and Megan were able to hit up the slopes right after it had pounded for 2 days. It was one of the best snow days I have ever had. We were on our way up to Brighton but saw that Solitude was having a $39 lift deal. It was all powder and blue skies until we got tired and left in the afternoon
Weston, Mark, Vicki, and I were lucky enough to go to the Michael Buble concert. He was AWESOME. Not only did we get to see Michael but 5 days later we had the opportunity to see MUSE. They were pretty much the most incredible band ever!

We had to walk 4 blocks in the freezing rain. We made the most of it but we all got splashed by a fast moving car while we stood on the corner waiting to cross the street

I can't believe that it has already been a year for Weston and I as a married couple. They say the first year is always the hardest; so if it only gets better from here I am pretty excited for eternity because it has already been a dream. We had a great evening together as I sent Weston on a small scavenger hunt for the day and he gave me the most BEAUTIFUL flowers ever. Loving Weston has been the greatest thing that has ever happened to me and I thank the lord everyday that we have been sealed together for all time and eternity. I think our relationship is as close to perfect as possible. I keep him on his toes and he puts up with me.

I can't wait to see what challenges and stories the next year brings!

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 4 seed Westminster College (Utah) battled its way to an 80-74 victory Thursday against Evangel University (Mo.) in the first round of the 2010 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship at Municipal Auditorium.Junior forward Ben Walker paced the Griffins with 21 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots in the contest. Senior forward Weston Anderson contributed 17 points, five rebounds and a team-leading five assists, while junior guard Michael Stockton came off the bench to add 15 points and five assists for Westminster. Senior forward Blair Prowse registered 10 points for the Griffins, who shot nearly 61 percent from the field in the second half (14-of-23) to post the victory.Westminster now moves into the second round of tournament action on Friday at 2:15 p.m. CT. The Griffins will meet No. 13 seed Azusa Pacific University (Calif.).“I was really proud of our guys today,” said Westminster head coach Tommy Connor. “When we got down (in the second half) things weren’t going our way and we battled back. It showed a lot of courage. We haven’t played from behind much this year so that was good for our guys.”The game featured eight ties and 10 lead changes. The Westminster Basketball team won the Conference Tournament Championships in a close game on Monday March 8th, 2010. The Griffins will head off to Kansas City on Monday March 15th for Nationals

CONGRATULATIONS BOYS!

SALT LAKE CITY – Frontier Conference Commissioner Kent Paulson announced the 2009-2010 men's basketball all-conference team today. Westminster placed Weston Anderson, Blair Prowse, and Ben Walker on the first team. Griffins head coach Tommy Connor was named the Coach of the Year.

“I’m very happy for our three players that made the first team,” Connor said. “All three have had terrific years and are very deserving of being named first team all-conference.”

Anderson, a 6-4 senior guard from Salt Lake City, is averaging 12.7 points per game and is third in the conference in assists at 3.7 per contest. He has scored in double figures 24 times this season. Anderson was named second team all-conference last season.

Prowse, a 6-4 senior guard from South Jordan, Utah, in ninth in the conference in scoring at 14.9 points per game and his 2.9 treys per night is the second most in the Frontier. He has led the team in scoring 11 times this season and has reached double figures on 21 occasions. Prowse was named first team all-conference during his sophomore season of 2007-08.

Walker, a 6-7 junior forward from Lehi, Utah, makes the first team during his first season at Westminster. He leads the team in scoring and rebounding and is his 67.4% field goal percentage is third nationally. He has 42 blocked shots this season which puts him on top of the school single season and career leader board.

The three players in the first team matches a school record set two other times. The Griffins also placed three on the first team following the 2005-06 and 2007-08 seasons.

This marks the fifth time that Connor has been named the Coach of the year by the Frontier Conference.

Sadly Weston's senior year of BBall is coming to an end. He had his senior night recently and they are now playing in the Conference Tournament Championships on Monday March 8th. Weston has had a wonderful season and has been a major leader and contributor to his team. He has some of the greatest friends that a guys could ask for. Although I am excited for the season to be over, I will miss watching him play.

SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men’s basketball team capped a 13-1 Frontier Conference championship season with an 81-77 win over Lewis-Clark State on Saturday night in the Behnken Field House. No. 4 Westminster held off a late LC State (14-14, 5-9) rally to finish the regular season at 23-5.

“We capped off a remarkable conference season,” head coach Tommy Connor said. “I feel this group has really overachieved and to run through the conference like we did is unbelievable. I couldn’t be prouder of this team for accomplishing their goals set in the preseason”

The game looked like it was going to get out of hand early as Westminster scored the first 13 points of the game and led 18-3 less than six minutes into the contest. LC State kept battling in the first half and eventually cut the lead to five late in the opening stanza. The Warriors then used a 15-6 run to start the second half to even the game at 46 and then with 5:08 remaining the score was tied for the fourth time at 64. A quick 5-0 run over the next 90 second put the Griffins ahead for good.

“It was good to play a close game,” Connor said of the first single digit victory since January 30. “We needed a game like this to get us ready for the tournament.”

Westminster shot 54.7% from the floor in the game and was 8-of-14 from beyond the arc. They controlled the glass to a 30-26 advantage and committed just 12 turnovers. The Griffins recorded 22 assists on 29 field goals and had 38 points in the paint. Defensively they forced LC State into 13 turnovers and turned them into 16 points.

Blair Prowse led the attack for Westminster with 25 points including 7-of-8 from beyond the arc. His first basket was an and-one in the opening minutes and from there he was automatic from deep, sinking three from four feet behind the line. Ben Walker chipped in 16 points and seven rebounds before fouling out with 6.7 second remaining. Weston Anderson posted 13 points and a career high nine assists.

This was the final regular season game for Westminster seniors Anderson, Jeramie Hopson, Conner Nielsen, and Prowse. Hopson finished with eight points and Nielsen added six points.

Jaron won his AAU championship game. It was a nail biter the whole time. With .4 seconds left and the game tied Jaron's team fouled. The other team's shooter missed the first free throw but made the second one. The kids on the bench were so excited that they ran onto the court and ended up with a Technical foul because there was still time on the clock. lucky the shooter from Jaron's team made both free throws and they won by 1 point. It was a sweet victory, but I felt so bad for the other team! That is terrible way to lose a basketball game.

The Anderson family (excluding Weston and Braydon) all went to the Billy Joel and Elton John Concert. IT WAS AWESOME. I don't have a lot of pictures but we had fun sporadically dancing and watching all of the drunk people pass out, dance uncontrollably, and act like idiots. Plus the music was great! We ended the perfect night with breakfast at Village Inn watching the "unique Individuals" who inhabit SLC during the late hours.

SALT LAKE CITY – There is just something about a Westminster versus Carroll men’s basketball game that provides the drama. After winning with a layup at the buzzer in last season’s Frontier Conference Semi-Finals, No. 13 Westminster (14-5, 4-1) held on for a 62-58 win in the first meeting of the 2010 Frontier Conference season on Thursday night in the Behnken Field House.The College Fanz Sports Network NAIA Game of the Week featured four ties and nine lead changes, including the final lead change with 3:47 remaining in the game when Tanner Gregory hit a hook shot in the lane to put Westminster on top 57-56. That basket snapped a 7-0 run by Carroll (8-10, 1-3) and preceded a 3-pointer from Blair Prowse, his sixth of the game, that out the Griffins up four and for good.“We need to protect home court,” head coach Tommy Connor said. “We knew it was going to be a game like this because with Carroll it always is.”Westminster carried a 34-28 lead into the intermission behind 46.4% shooting in the opening half. For the game, Westminster shot 44.9% while limiting Carroll to just 37.7%. Westminster used its Princeton offense to get several layups that led to a 28-18 advantage in points in the paint. The Griffins also took advantage of 13 Carroll turnovers by turning them into 14 points. Westminster recorded 17 assists on 22 field goals.“We potentially lost the game by missing free throws,” Connor noted of his team going 2-of4 from the foul line in the final minute. “You just need to have one more than them and we did tonight and we feel good about the win.”Prowse finished with a game high 26 points on 7-of-14 shooting. He started the game 4-of-5, all from three, and twice converted 4-point plays in the game. SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men’s basketball team moved into sole possession of first place in the Frontier Conference with a 59-51 win over Rocky Mountain College on Saturday night in the Behnken Field House.No. 13 Westminster (15-5, 5-1) was tied with Rocky (9-11, 4-1) with 12 minutes to play before using an 11-2 run to run the lead to nine with six minutes to play. Westminster went 3-of-5 from the foul line in the final minutes, but Rocky couldn’t get closer that five.“This is a really great win,” head coach Tommy Connor said after the game. “Rocky is a really great team and I thought we really guarded well and our defense stepped up and won the game for us.”Westminster shot just 42.3% from the field but took advantage of 17 Rocky turnovers that resulted in 14 Westminster points. The Griffins also held Rocky to 33.3% shooting and just 7-of-23 from beyond the arc. Westminster committed just 11 turnovers and had 18 assists on 22 baskets. They also controlled the paint and finished with a 32-18 advantage in that department.“We had some guys step up and hit some big shots,” Connor commented. “Jeramie (Hopson) hit some really big threes and we handled the press much better in the second half.”Blair Prowse finished with a game-high 15 points and three steals. His dunk on a feed from Michael Stockton capped the second half run that put the game away. Jeramie Hopson had a nice night with 14 points and a team high seven rebounds. First off we went to Vegas to watch Weston and the Griffins Play Ball. They ended up winning both games.

Friend Christmas Party. So good to see everyone and congrats to all the ones who are expecting. We had a pretty good time catching up and exchanging gifts. It was a big surprise that we all found time to get together after so long. And Niesha even found the house after being lost for 45 minutes

Christmas was super bueno this year. The next day we went to Delta and spent the day with Wendy Jo's family. As much fun as we had we were both pretty tired afterward but both know how lucky we are to have so many that love us.

I was so excited that it was finally snowing that I made Weston get up with me and go outside. He wasn't as excited as me, especially when he had to start shoveling! The other bad part is we live on a huge hill and we almost can't make it to out apartment because it is so slick.

SALT LAKE CITY – One night after losing at home for the second time this season, the Westminster men’s basketball team responded with a convincing 84-51 win against Westmont. No. 9 Westminster (4-4) never trailed in the contest and limited Westmont (4-1) to just 35.4% shooting in the game.“We challenged our team to see how they bounce back,” head coach Tommy Connor said. “We wanted them to play well and they did that tonight.”Westminster scored the first four points of the game and eventually pushed the run to 16-6 over the first eight minutes. The Griffins then finished the half on a 16-4 run to turn a 22-12 lead into a 38-16 halftime advantage. Westminster held a 16-2 advantage in points in the paint during the opening 20 minutes and had six second chance points.“We really defended well tonight,” Connor commented. “We limited their easy shots, and then we made shots which has been our struggle this year. When you make shots everything else looks better.”Westminster finished the game with their most accurate shooting night of the season at 54.7%. This is only the second time this year they have topped 50% shooting. The Griffins were also on from the foul line making 21-of-23 attempts. They finished the game with a 38-18 advantage in the paint and turned 14 Westmont turnovers into 21 points. Westminster controlled the boards to the tune of a 39-22 advantage.Ben Walker led the Griffins with 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting. The 23 points is a career high for the junior and matches a season high by any individual this season. Walker also controlled six rebounds and went 7-of-7 at the foul line. Blair Prowse finished with 15 points, all coming from his five makes from beyond the arc. Michael Stockton led the bench to a 28-12 advantage in bench scoring behind his 14 points. Stockton also grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists. Weston Anderson scored 12 points and Jeramie Hopson grabbed a season high seven rebounds, including four on the offensive end.Dan Rasp led Westmont with 17 points and four rebounds. Blake bender added 12 points one night after scoring 36 against Carroll College. Bender also had a team high five assists.Westminster is back in action on Friday, December 4 when they host St. Tomas (Fla.) in the Behnken Field House for the first of back-to-back meetings. That game is slated for an 8:00 p.m. tipoff with the rematch on Saturday, December 5 at 6:00 p.m.

I know that I have been bad at updating things but here is the latest update on Weston and his basketball game. He is on his way home right now from Caldwell Idaho.

This Week
The No. 9 Westminster men’s basketball team travels to Caldwell, Idaho for two games at the Golden Rule Shootout. Westminster opens the tournament against Northwest (Wash.) on Friday, November 20, at 6:00 p.m. Then they face the tournament host, the College of Idaho, on Saturday, November 21, at 8:00 p.m. Both games will be played at the Albertson Activities Center.

Westminster (1-3) carries a 3-game losing streak with them to Idaho. They went 0-2 against No. 8 Concordia (Calif.) and No. 3 Fresno Pacific at the Las Vegas Classic last weekend. This is the first time the Griffins have lost three consecutive games since the 2006-07 season and is only the sixth time that has happened since the 1999-2000 season.

Westminster is averaging 72 points per game through the first four games of the season and is shooting 45.5% from the field. They are grabbing 37.8 rebounds per game with a 2.5 rebounding margin. The Griffins rank 29th in the NAIA by holding the opposition to just 29.3% shooting from beyond the arc.

Weston Anderson leads the team in scoring and ranks 41st in the country with a scoring average of 18 points per game. Anderson has scored 20-plus points twice and had 18 points in another outing this season. Blair Prowse is averaging 3.25 makes from beyond the arc in the early going this season. That number puts him 18th in the country and second in the Frontier Conference.

On September 11th, Wendy and Charlie came in town to go to wedding and the Riet family got together and enjoyed an evening at Thanksgiving Point. We enjoyed the Farmer's market, Dinosaur Museum, and then had some Ice Cream treats.

I haven't updated the blog for a while. I have just simply been too lazy and busy. So here is a quick update on what had been going on. After we came back from California we went out to Houston to visit my lovely Aunt Wendy and Uncle Charlie. We had a great 4 days playing with their two sons (Jake and Brooks), Wes was able to go hit balls twice and go golfing once. He will say he didn't golf the best but he got a lot of good pointers while we were there. Once we got home from that we had to face reality and realized that we are no longer able to have fun. But it was awesome while it lasted!

Other than that Weston is now in school and basketball has begun once again. And I have had the opportunity to find a new job! More details about that at a later date.

This past week I had the privilege of coaching 10 girls from the ages or 11-15 for beach volleyball.

We started out by practicing at the sports mall in Murray on their new sand courts (awesome). Then on Monday the 20th we flew out to Long Beach California. There they participated in a 3 day USA Volleyball Beach camp with some AVP Players (non of which I knew) but they learned a lot. Us coaches mostly snuck away and played on the beach or in town. Thursday morning Weston Flew into Long Beach and hung out with us. Good news is he didn't get burnt until Saturday when the girls played in the CBVA (California Beach Volleyball Association) tournament all day.

After playing lots of volleyball and almost drowning myself in the ocean we went to DISNEYLAND!

I haven't been there for almost 12 years and we had a blast. The only downside was that we woke up at 7 a.m and didn't get back until 1 a.m, then we had to get back up at 5 a.m to catch out flight.

Even worse than that, poor Weston had to go straight to camp on Monday and coach until 9 p.m. But we aren't complaining, just taking life as it comes. Especially since that was our first real vacation as a married couple!

One Rodeo and a Wedding

We had a semi eventful weekend. On Friday Weston and I drove down to Nephi Ut, and took part in the stampede rodeo. Before we went to the rodeo we ate dinner at the steakhouse (not one of the best meals I have ever had). Then we met our friends Annalee and Buck at the rodeo grounds and had a blast watching the calf roping and bull riding.

On saturday we drove down to Alpine and took part in Chris Hansen's wedding. I know, he is finally growing up and settling down. We had to sit in the sun for 40 minutes and melt before the bride even showed up. But the semi good news is I saw a few people from high school that I have not seen in years. It was like a small high school reunion. Brody Brown and his bride were there alone with, Andrew Gardner, Ischia Scott, Amy Draper, and the long lost Tim Madsen. We enjoyed some catching up and high school talk while Chris was paraded around for 1 1/2 hours to take pictures.

Last night Weston and I went to the Bees Game with My Aunt Kimmie and my Uncles Dave and Jeff. The Bees won 6-1 (I think) and we got to enjoy $1 hot dogs because it was 70s concession night! It doesn't get any better in the summer than this.

Our fourth of July Started on July 3rd. We drove down and went to my Dad's house to go take the cows up Fairview mountain. We woke up at 5:30 and all met in Fairview. This was Weston's first time riding a horse that long, and we were both pretty sore, but he made it all the way up the mountain without complaint. The only bad thing is that we both go REALLY sunburned on our faces and his had got burnt (weird).

We spent the night in the mountains making a dutch oven dinner and playing horse shoes. There is nothing better than spending a few days in God's country carving your names in a tree. The funny part about it was that Friday night was a beautiful night and my dad and Wendy decided to sleep under the stars. At about 4 a.m. they were rained upon. On the fourth of July we came off the mountain and stopped briefly at the parade just to say that we went. After that we had a lovely BBQ at Todd Tree's house and Attended the Rodeo that night where I saw my long lost friend's Lacy and Cory.

At the rodeo it started to pour so we ran to our cars and parked at Sill's restaurant to watch the fireworks.

Sunday we spent trying to get caught up on life, and I spent 45 minutes bathing my fat, hairy dog, just to have him roll in the mud 1 hour later.

All in all it was a pretty good weekend!

Bree And Weston's day of Fun

Weston and I got to spend the whole day together Saturday. We ended up going to Daybreak and hanging out around the lake. We also went to the new temple out there and stood in its wonderful beauty.

Since I never update my blog when I should I also get to babysit our friend Stephen's dog at work. It makes the day go by so much faster. Her name is OG (original Gankster) but I am going to call her princess and train her to come to that name! She is my filler since i can't have a kid or a dog.

I know this is a little late but It was also my mother's birthday on June 6th. We went and had our nails done at my aunt Holly's salon and pretty much had a family reunion there as well.

Later that night I went done to my dad's house for my cousin Robin's wedding. While I was there I took some sweet pictures of my little brothers so that I can black mail them when they get older!

It was my good friend Whitney Adams wedding on May 22nd in Reno Nevada. Me, Weston, and my friend Brad drove down there on Thurdsday night so that we had plenty of time to get to the ceremony on Friday. If you have ever driven to Reno you know that it is not the most beautiful drive in the world. It's a whole bunch of nothing, then you all of a sudden run into a city. We stayed at the Peppermill hotel and casino for the night and went swimming with some of the craziest people that we have ever met. Besides smoking all over our clothesFor example: the guy in the hot tub told us that he played baseball in Oregon for 6 years from 2000-2003 and had so many coaches that he couldn't remember the head coaches name.

On Friday we went to the ceremony, which was beautiful, and then melted in the heat for an hour to watch them take pictures. The next day we had to drive 30 miles off of the freeway and into the middle of nowhere called Fallon Nevada: Whit's home town. We got to the house and after Weston played basketball with Whit's brothers and new husband we decided that we could not possibly stay in Nevada any longer and drove home that night. Everything was going fine until we stopped in Wendover at 2:00am to get a drink and Weston didn't make a complete stop at the stop sign and got a ticket.

Weston and I took our first official trip together to Ikea. If you have never been you should go because it is a poor, young couples paradise because everything is cheap, and unassembled so he gets to put everthing together and feel like a man, and they have just about everything. We bought a few decorative items and a huge picture that is about 3 inches smaller than me.

Isn't it crazy the things that make you happy when you are married.

Down on the farm

Farming day,

So I made Weston go down to the farm on Saturday and fulfil his duty of being a cowboy. He did so well and even my dad was impressed (which is a big deal). He pushed cows all day and didn't even complain. He even had a few precious little calves "release" themselves on him and he was extremely dirty. Annalee and Buck Ashby came down to help us out, mostly because Buck was so excited to get on a farm that Annalee had to give in to him. Buck had a perma smile on his face all day and Annalee could not stop staring as they castrated to poor boy cows.

We did have a good time and we had a bonding experience with my dad, Wendy (his new wife), Hayden, and Garret (my little brothers).

We have only been married for a a month and a half, but I thought that it was long enough for him to go and get beaten up a little bit.
Now the city boy has a little country in his soul.

Hi All!

Welcome to the life and times of Bree and Weston Anderson. I (Bree), formally known as Bree Jensen-Riet, am from small town USA (Sanpete County). My amazing husband, Weston Lewis Anderson, is from Cottonwood Heights which is the big city according to the country folk. Weston and I met at Westminster College our freshman year. We never dated but we were training room buddies. He played basketball and I was on the volleyball team. He went on his mission the following year; as he was out serving the lord I was having a great college experience.
When he came back in 2007 we started to talk again and became friends. In late 2007 we went out a couple of times, but it wasn't quite time for us to be together yet. But finally in March 2008 we started to date frequently, then seriously. We were engaged on September 12th 2008 and then married in the Salt Lake Temple on March 27th, 2009.
We now live in Salt Lake City, I am graduated with an economics degree and he has one more year of school (finance Major) and basketball.
